How To Display An Icon Only For The MeMenu [Quick Tip]

MeMenu Ubuntu icon only

Want to display an icon only for the Ubuntu MeMenu (the indicator that displays your status)? Just run the following commands in a terminal:

gconftool -s /system/indicator/me/display --type int 0
killall gnome-panel

For me, the MeMenu dissapeared completely (in Ubuntu 10.10) after running the first command but a panel restart fixed it. However, setting it back to "1" didn't require a panel restart.
